Alain Altinoglu has been the new Music Director of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony since the beginning of the 2021/22 season.
Altinoglu regularly conducts such distinguished orchestras as Berliner Philharmoniker, Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, The Cleveland Orchestra, The Philadelphia Orchestra, Russian National Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra London, Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, Danish National Symphony Orchestra, Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden, Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich as well as all the major Parisian orchestras. In July 2019, Altinoglu conducted the Orchestre National de France in the annual Concert de Paris on Bastille Day, broadcast to millions across the globe.
Alain Altinoglu is also a member of the league of internationally renowned opera conductors. Since 2016 he has been Music Director of the Brussels »Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie«. He has already conducted premieres at many of the world's leading opera houses. He regularly gives guest performances at the festivals in Bayreuth, Salzburg, Orange and Aix-en-Provence. As a pianist, Alain Altinoglu maintains a strong affinity and command over the Lied repertoire and occasionally makes excursions into the fields of jazz and improvisation. Numerous CD releases testify to his diverse and successful artistic work.
Born in Paris in 1975, the Frenchman with Armenian roots studied at the Paris Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse, where he teaches since then and leads the conducting class since 2014.
